About us

We are a society at LSE aiming to encourage and enhance women’s political leadership and influence. We seek to understand how and why governments accommodate or restrain the political role of women globally so we can work towards the betterment of Women in Politics today and enable our society members to succeed.

Inclusiveness is a crucial aspect of our society - our events will aim to be both intersectional and international.

We offer discussion panels and conferences with female political leaders to inform and inspire, skills workshops, networking and work-experience opportunities to equip our members with the tools to ensure political success.

We lead the Hands Off LSE campaign (initiated in Sep 2019) to improve sexual violence support and provision in LSE.

Membership

Our membership allows members to further engage in WiP. Not only will you get to participate in all our events (academic panels, socials, networking events, etc...), but you will also have the opportunity to run for committee positions in WiP and Hands Off during our elections (October and March/April).

Events and Activities

Over the year, you can expect academic panels, campaigning events, networking/workshop events with women in politics, socials (e.g. film screenings), political discussions and round-tables, etc., which will sometimes be in collaboration with diverse societies and part-time LSESU officers.

We are excited to welcome new members, and we've created a Whatsapp group so that we can chat and answer your questions.
