Welcome to the Bulgarian Society at LSE!
We’re a community of students brought together by our shared love for Bulgaria – its culture, traditions, and rich history. Whether you’re Bulgarian, have Bulgarian heritage, or are simply curious to learn more about the country, you’re warmly invited to join us!
What We Do: We organise a variety of cultural, social, and professional events throughout the year, including:
Traditional Celebrations: Celebrate key Bulgarian holidays like Baba Marta, Easter, and Christmas with authentic food, music, and activities such as Martenitsi-making and cooking workshops.
Guest Speakers and Networking: Meet inspiring Bulgarians from all walks of life, including entrepreneurs, academics, and cultural figures, who share their journeys and insights.
Cultural Workshops: Experience the beauty of Bulgarian traditions through dancing, cooking classes, and art-based activities. Social Gatherings: Join us for relaxed meetups, joint events with other societies (like UCL and King’s Bulgarian Societies), and our collaborative Balkan-focused initiatives.
Careers and Development Opportunities: Participate in events like our Eastern European-focused careers fair and academic panels to grow both personally and professionally.
Why Join? We’re more than just a society – we’re a supportive community where you can connect with like-minded people, explore Bulgarian culture, and make lifelong friends. Whether it’s through celebrating traditions, engaging in workshops, or meeting inspiring speakers, we want to make your time at LSE even more memorable.
