Voted "Society of the Year" in 2015, the LSESU Islamic Society offers a wide variety of services for both Muslims and Non-Muslims on campus; from talks, interfaith and charity events.

ABOUT US

As one of the most diverse societies, the Islamic Society offers a wide variety of services for Muslims and Non-Muslims; that aim to reflect the breadth of the Islamic faith, from talks, socials and sports, to interfaith and charity events as well as mentoring and spiritual activities!

We provide the opportunity to gain greater knowledge and understanding about Islam, and to join an active community of inspiring Muslims from a variety of ethnicities and backgrounds.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

Over the course of the year, we will be holding a wide variety of events. On the social side, this includes regular socials for brothers and sisters to attend, going out for a casual lunch and simply spending time having fun on campus.

On a structured basis, we will be offering:

  • Fortnightly soup kitchens to give back and help the local homeless community of London

  • A weekly Islamic Foundations course, taught by a qualified teacher from Roots Academy

  • Weekly Brothers/ Sisters Islamic circles

  • Regular talks from people of knowledge and expertise on a wide range of areas pertaining to the Islamic faith such as spirituality, social issues, finance, daw’ah, and much more

  • Various opportunities for members to get involved in organising events

If you’re looking for a home away from home and simply like-minded people to talk to, the ISoc has that covered with our weekly Friday post-Jumm’ah meals; a great opportunity to build friendships.
