Voted "Society of the Year" in 2015, the LSESU Islamic Society offers a wide variety of services for both Muslims and Non-Muslims on campus; from talks, interfaith and charity events.
As one of the most diverse societies, the Islamic Society offers a wide variety of services for Muslims and Non-Muslims; that aim to reflect the breadth of the Islamic faith, from talks, socials and sports, to interfaith and charity events as well as mentoring and spiritual activities!
We provide the opportunity to gain greater knowledge and understanding about Islam, and to join an active community of inspiring Muslims from a variety of ethnicities and backgrounds.
Purchasing a membership to join the Islamic Society will grant you access to a number of privileges:
Monthly newsletters that include an outline of upcoming special events, reminders from the Qur’an and Sunnah, and other ISOC news
ISOC-run careers mentorship schemes
Access to the ISOC notes drive
Discounted Early Bird Ticket Access for our flagship events
The ability to purchase ISOC merchandise
Voting rights at all elections that the ISoc holds, with the right to run for any elected position
The opportunity to contribute to the functioning of the ISOC, and to support us in hosting higher quality events all year-round; for example free refreshments!
Over the course of the year, we will be holding a wide variety of events. On the social side, this includes regular socials for brothers and sisters to attend, going out for a casual lunch and simply spending time having fun on campus.
On a structured basis, we will be offering:
Fortnightly soup kitchens to give back and help the local homeless community of London
A weekly Islamic Foundations course, taught by a qualified teacher from Roots Academy
Weekly Brothers/ Sisters Islamic circles
Regular talks from people of knowledge and expertise on a wide range of areas pertaining to the Islamic faith such as spirituality, social issues, finance, daw’ah, and much more
Various opportunities for members to get involved in organising events
If you’re looking for a home away from home and simply like-minded people to talk to, the ISoc has that covered with our weekly Friday post-Jumm’ah meals; a great opportunity to build friendships.
