Bringing together law, policy, and technology to explore responsible AI development and drive innovative legal solutions.
Welcome to the Artificial Intelligence Law & Governance Society (AILG).
AILG is an interdisciplinary society dedicated to exploring the governance, regulation, and societal implications of artificial intelligence. Our mission is to foster informed discussions on responsible AI development by bringing together students, academics, policymakers, and industry experts from diverse fields, including law, public policy, data science, cognitive science, and philosophy. We aim to equip members with the knowledge and skills to understand and shape AI's evolving role in society.
What we do: Engage in-depth discussions: We host events with thought leaders in AI, public policy, and law, focusing on regulatory challenges, the ethical implications of AI, and its broader social impacts. Our discussions evaluate the need for new laws and sanctions to ensure the responsible development and deployment of AI.
Spotlight AI’s role in the career landscape: We equip members with resources to navigate a tech-driven legal landscape, offering demonstrations and workshops that highlight the latest advancements in AI and their applications within legal practices.
Support student research and advocacy: AILG promotes student-led research and interdisciplinary projects that bridge technology and law. We encourage participation in essay competitions and coding collaborations with data science peers to develop AI models with positive societal impacts.
Whether you're interested in law, data science, cognitive science, or policy—or simply want to explore AI’s societal impact—AILG offers a platform to contribute meaningfully to responsible AI governance.
