LSE's sole sustainable finance-focused society, fostering a deeper understanding of GREEN FINANCE in climate action while connecting students to diverse career opportunities in the sector.

About us

The LSESU Green Finance Society is the sole sustainable finance-focused society at LSE. Our mission is to provide you with the resources to gain knowledge and skills in the field and opportunities to contribute towards driving sustainability in various industries. Our international membership pool represents a mix of engaged undergraduate and postgraduate students united by a shared vision to build a climate-secure and sustainable future for all.

Our aims:

  1. Educate - Provide practical and timely knowledge of green finance trends through seminars, newsletters, podcasts and crash-courses.
  2. Engage - Ensure our members are well informed of the latest trends and opportunities in green finance through weekly events with industry professionals.
  3. Act - Empower our members to act tangibly in the field of green finance through skill and career-focused partnerships with leading firms in sustainable finance, consulting, entrepreneurship & more.

We host a range of events, including panel sessions with professionals, industry crash courses, socials, and our annual flagship event - the Sustainable Finance Conference!

Events and Activities

  • Panel events: Weekly career panels, fireside chats and workshops with green finance professionals that provide members with topical industry insights and networking opportunities.
  • Industry crash courses: Educational workshops on green finance fundamentals, such as our 'Unpacking Green Finance' programme, with opportunities to learn about ESG criteria, green bonds, taxonomies and more.
  • Sustainable Finance Conference: Our three-day flagship event comprising panel discussions with industry professionals, member-exclusive workshops and networking sessions (SFC 2024 hosted speakers from Barclays, Bank of America, LGIM, Schroders, Oliver Wyman, Deloitte, EY, St James's Place, and start-ups in the sustainability space).
  • Inter-university collaborations: Case competitions, such as the Net Zero Investment Challenge hosted with societies from Warwick, KCL, and Oxford, and regular webinars via the University Sustainability Network.
  • Socials: Opportunities for members to bond after events (and over food) in various fun, informal settings.
