About us

The Impact Investing Society (IIS) is LSE's premier society working to promote how investing and finance can be used to drive impactful change through environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives globally.

The IIS works to create an engaging platform that expands members’ critical understanding of impact investing beyond conventional corporate applications to engender meaningful impact alongside profit.

The LSE Impact Investing Society has 3 key objectives:

  • Host events with industry leaders: The IIS serves as a bridge for students and impact investing professionals, enabling members to develop their professional network and gain first-hand insights into the career opportunities that await them.
  • Pushing the boundaries of research: The IIS Research Division aims to equip students with the analytical and technical knowledge necessary to succeed in their careers.
  • Meaningful partnerships: Fostering partnerships within and beyond LSE to amplify the impact of IIS and leverage the unique expertise of various organisations.

Since its founding in October 2019, the Impact Investing Society has successfully hosted panel sessions with leading impact investing and sustainable finance professionals, keynote speeches, and collaborative events with other societies at the LSE. Some of the firms we have worked with include Deloitte, KPMG, AGC, HSBC, BNP Paribas, Earth Capital, and Tribe Impact Capital.
