Both for Italians and non-Italians, the Italian Society aims to promote Italian culture on campus and raising awareness of political, cultural and economic issues concerning Italy and Europe.
We are an inclusive group of Italians and non-Italians, promoting Italian culture on campus and raising awareness of issues concerning Italy and Europe. The society offers guest speakers and events, including our major signature event, the Italian Symposium, a partnership with United Italian Societies with notorious guests from the current Italian political, economic and social panorama. Our lectures touch on numerous aspects and issues facing Italy today. We have welcomed Giorgio Napolitano and six Prime Ministers: Giuliano Amato, Massimo D’Alema, Romano Prodi, Enrico Letta, Paolo Gentiloni and Matteo Renzi. We organise numerous social events including Italian ‘aperitivi', Pizza Parties, and joint parties with the Italian Societies of other Universities.
