The LSE's Kurdish Society is committed to the active pursuit of recognition, representation, and justice for the Kurdish people.
Grounded in a firm commitment to social justice, our Society engages with the political realities affecting Kurds both historically and in the present. From issuing public responses to geopolitical developments in the region to convening pluralistic dialogues on pathways to peace, freedom, and dignity, we seek to build critical awareness and solidarity on campus.
Our Society pledges the following to its members:
• A dynamic student community: We will collaborate with other Kurdish student societies across the UK to foster a spirit of collective organising and solidarity among Kurdish and allied students.
• Panels and seminars: We will host regular events featuring academics, political figures, and human rights advocates to explore key issues concerning Kurdish political struggles, culture, and identity.
• Educational initiatives: Through campaigns and teach-ins, we aim to advance public understanding of the Kurdish cause, foregrounding themes such as statelessness, self-determination, cultural resistance, and transformative justice.
As we continue the longstanding legacy of the Kurdish Society at LSE—a vital space of expression, activism, and cultural affirmation—we invite all students interested in Kurdish affairs to join us in collective inquiry and action.
