As a new society introduced this year, Urban+ strives to promote sustainable, inclusive, and creative urban development. Recognising the salience of urban issues globally, we founded this society to inspire discussion on urban planning and initiatives to improve urban spaces and achieve sustainability. Our committee is comprised of passionate students who want to encourage knowledge-sharing and conversations on international urban planning traditions and landscapes among LSE students.
In the coming year, we aim to organise local guided tours and borough visits in London, allowing members to gain deeper insights into the history and future of the city from an urban perspective. We will also host a wide variety of workshops and seminars. In doing so, Urban+ hopes to provide opportunities for students to acquire place-based knowledge on cities around the world. We will also engage in community projects to help build inclusivity and resilience in urban spaces.
