About us

LSE Netball club is one of the largest AU clubs at LSE and is the biggest all female club. With around 150 members split into 6 competitive teams and a social team we are little community of powerful and intelligent women. Teams 1-3 compete twice a week (Monday and Wednesday) in both BUCS and LUSL (London University Social League) fixtures. Teams 4-6 compete in LUSL fixtures on Mondays. We also offer regular netball training and fitness sessions with dedicated coaches to all of our members, including social members who do not wish to participate in competitive fixtures. We welcome and have teams suited to all abilities from national standard players to absolute beginners who had never even heard of netball before, with a large number of varying teams there is a place for everyone in our club!!

Netball is a great way to get involved in AU sport at LSE and meet loads of new people either on the court or as part of our infamous social presence. We're so excited to be back playing BUCS and LUSL fixtures this year, as well as maintaining regular training for all teams! We are ready to showcase our netball talent and can't wait to return for some super fun and exciting in-person socials!

As one of the biggest AU clubs we use our platform to empower and encourage our members to use their voices to campaign and engage in outreach and volunteering opportunities. We will be building upon the invaluable work our previous committee carried out in collaboration with the Inter-faith society including sandwich making and toiletry collections for the homeless. Further, we will be actively participating in the Black Lives Matter movement, Black History Month, and campaigns to decolonise the LSE curriculum. The Hands Off LSE movement and Consent Collective are campaigns to reform LSE’s culture and policies regarding sexual violence, with over 140 women in our club this is incredibly important to us and we will be participating in this movement.

So why should you join our Netball club? Because we are a community of powerful young women who help each other reach their potential, whilst always having fun playing netball, keeping fit, socialising and making a difference!

Membership

We offer three different memberships depending on which team you join, members on teams 1-6 purchase a membership which enables access to competitive fixtures (BUCS and LUSL), reimbursement for travel to matches and regular training with a dedicated coach. Members on team 1 pay a slightly increased membership fee to account for extra training sessions. Competitive membership also includes all the benefits of social membership. Social membership offers members regular fitness and netball sessions with a qualified instructor, participation in all of our socials and the opportunity to go on tour. Your membership fee goes toward the running of the club, including the cost of matches, umpires and coaches. LSE Netball membership enables you to be part of the biggest all female club within the Athletics Union, you get to represent the club and the university, and become part of a community of powerful likeminded young women who will become your friends for life.
