The school can make adjustments so that you are not disadvantaged in your studies if you have a learning difficulty, mental health support needs or other long-term medical condition.
Adjustments to your studies are administered by the school Disability and Wellbeing Service (DWS). Every student is unique but some examples of reasonable adjustments include: ensuring that lecture notes are sent out in advance, access to designated study rooms, extended loans on library books, specialist equipment or extra time in exams.
To apply for adjustments, you should contact the Disability and Wellbeing Service. Ideally you will do this prior to your arrival, but if you unable to do so or if your health concerns develop after starting at LSE, as soon as is possible for you. An adviser will meet with you to discuss your requirements as well as discuss any evidence which you may need to support your adjustment. You will have an opportunity to describe your medical needs and how you feel they might affect your studies. Once approved, your adjustments will be circulated to your department as well as the DWS monitoring the implementation of it.
If you feel as though your agreed adjustments are not being correctly implemented, we would suggest contact the DWS as soon as possible so they can ensure that they are.
