Part-Time Officers (PTOs) are directly elected by LSE Students during the SU Winter Term Elections to represent marginalised and minority students on campus.
We know that racialised, disabled, queer, trans and working-class students face a range of systemic challenges and barriers at LSE and beyond. PTOs advocate, organise and campaign to improve the experience of the students they represent as well as trying to develop a sense of belonging and community.
PTOs also sit on the SU Executive Committee alongside the four Sabbatical Officers. The Executive Committee meets monthly and works to implement student policies and lobby LSE on big student issues like student financial hardship and cost of living, consent and the ethnicity attainment gap. PTOs are still LSE students but are paid an honorarium of £750 for the year.
