LSESU is always trying to improve student life through supporting societies & sports teams in their work, providing welfare advice and of course being your voice in School meetings.
Every 5 years we need to review the document that sets out or legal purpose and how we are run – the Articles. We will be bringing this to a Student members meeting soon but before we do we’re seeking any views you might have.
The proposed document is here. We aren’t looking to do anything major, just clarify a few points. It won’t change the campaigning work we do, the projects we run or the fun that you have in our venues but it will add clarity and help us help you more. The changes are
- Increasing the number of people we can have on the Trustee Board, bringing extra expertise to guide us.
- An administrative point to ensure that we can support international students who are elected to sabbatical positions properly.
- Additional transparency about the role of the Trustee Board on issues of finance. We haven’t changed the position just been more explicit about it.
